Yo Network AML / KYC Statement

Yo Network is a decentralized, non-custodial protocol. Smart contracts execute autonomously on the BNB Smart Chain and do not require traditional account creation. Nevertheless, Yo Network is committed to combatting illicit finance and supporting a compliant web3 ecosystem. This statement explains the measures we implement to uphold global anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) standards where applicable.

1. Non-Custodial Architecture

Yo Network smart contracts never take custody of private keys, fiat currency, or personal data. Users interact directly with blockchain wallets that they control. This design aligns with the decentralized ethos while limiting the scope of personal data processed by Yo Network contributors.

2. Risk-Based Screening

The public web interface incorporates risk-based controls such as sanctions screening, address blacklists sourced from reputable compliance providers, and heuristics for detecting mixers or high-risk wallets. Addresses identified as sanctioned or suspicious may be blocked from utilizing the hosted interface, though smart contracts remain permissionless by design. Communities and partners are encouraged to implement similar controls when hosting their own frontends.

3. Optional Enhanced Due Diligence

Institutional participants, liquidity partners, or enterprise customers may complete enhanced due diligence with trusted KYC vendors prior to accessing bespoke tooling or higher transaction thresholds. Documentation is stored by the vendor under strict data protection agreements; Yo Network contributors do not maintain copies of personal documents.

4. Reporting Suspicious Activity

Community members are urged to report suspected illicit activity to compliance@yonetwork.io. Yo Network collaborates with analytics partners to review escalations and, where appropriate, liaises with competent authorities. Due to the decentralized nature of the protocol, final responsibility for compliance lies with each user.

5. Jurisdictional Considerations

Users are responsible for ensuring that participation in Yo Network is lawful in their jurisdiction. Certain regions may require licensing, registration, or customer verification for DeFi activities. Yo Network does not solicit users in prohibited jurisdictions and may geo-restrict the web interface when mandated by law.

6. Ongoing Compliance Evolution

AML and KYC standards evolve alongside regulation. Yo Network will update this statement as frameworks mature and may introduce additional safeguards in partnership with the community. Updates will be communicated through official channels and this page.
